School holidays are a time for fun, but it's also important to help keep children and young people safe.

For parents and carers:

- Know where your child is and who they are with.

- Encourage them to keep in touch if plans change.

- Talk about staying with trusted friends and what to do if they feel unsafe.

For young people:

- Stay with friends where possible.

- Tell someone you trust where you're going.

- If you ever feel unsafe or worried, move to a safe place and speak to a trusted adult or call 999 in an emergency.
