Weekly Round-up! |

Good evening Resident,
SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER! With the kids all finished school for the year and the sun shining, we've had a very busy and warm week. So hears what we have been up to.
Lets get to it!
What’s Been Happening
Arrests – Eight arrests in total this week with the first two being for robbery. A male has been arrested for breaching his post bail conditions. A Male was arrested during NTE on Friday night for an assault on security at the Billy Wright Pub. Two further arrests were made for thefts from shops/stalls and another male was arrested for assault. Finally, A suspected shop thief was in court Thursday after city centre officers arrested a man following an alert by security staff in the Mander Centre. A man wanted over a number of offences was seen in the shopping complex Wednesday afternoon, and a PCSO was informed, prompting a fast response by both uniformed and plain-clothes officers. The man was quickly detained in Bond Street and has since been charged. Luke Smith, aged 36, was remanded in police custody overnight and was due at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court charged with 12 thefts and one count of possession of class B drugs.
Community Engagement – Team one hosted a Cuppa with a Copper on Thursday at Costa Coffee on Dudley Street, unfortunately not many people turned up, so they sat and had a chat with the staff regarding safety around the city centre. We did some end of term partnership work with schools this week in an attempt to curb the anticipated ASB on Friday with the finishing of schools for the year. Our PCs and PCSOs were patrolling the city centre with not on members of our Priority Crime Team but also multiple headteachers from local schools. Thankfully there were no major issues involving students. Team one visited the Memory Café at The Grand Theatre on Friday to join in with their South Asian celebrations. The got involved with conversations and also some drawing activities with members of the community that suffer with Dementia. They took the time to continue their activities on Saturday once again at The Grand at their Heritage Day. Team twos PCSO Wykes held a Community crime prevention stand today(Sat) inside the Wulfrun Centre by the food court. He had plenty of advice and freebies to give away with 242 people coming along to speak to him, with over half of these community members enquiring about careers within the Police.
Guardian Patrols – General patrols were carried out as usual around the city centre, but this week we were joined by not only the Servator Patrols but also the Guardian Task Force. This saw our numbers bolstered and we were able to patrol more areas of the city at the same time.
Night-Time Economy – A slow start to the NTE shifts this week. Events at the Slug and Lettuce brought in crowds but these seemed to dissipate throughout the night with everyone in good spirits. The only thing of note was the arrest made for an assault which is detailed above. As for Saturday night i will update you with all the details for that at the beginning of next weeks update.
Other News - Our officers carried out some arrest attempts early on Friday evening, trying to get the night off to a quick start. Unfortunately all of their attempts were unsuccessful.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope you look forward to the next one!
