Kent Police are appealing for information following a report of Vehicle interference and or thefts from motor vehicles

There has been multiple reports on social media regarding thefts in the area, from a white male, approximately 30's on a blue bicycle.

I have furthered this message by placing various posters in alot of Deal shops, for awareness and safeguarding.

Remove Valuables

Do not leave handbags, wallets, mobile phones, laptops, tools, parcels, sat navs or any other valuables on display.

Take valuables with you whenever possible.

If items must remain in the vehicle, lock them in the boot before reaching your destination.

Protect Keys

Keep vehicle keys away from doors and windows at home.

Consider using a Faraday pouch for keyless entry fobs to prevent relay theft.

Never leave spare keys inside the vehicle.

Tool Theft Prevention

Remove tools from vehicles overnight wherever possible.

Mark tools with your postcode or a unique identifier.

Record serial numbers and photograph valuable equipment.

Consider tool-tracking technology and secure storage systems.

Reporting Suspicious Activity

Report suspicious behaviour around vehicles promptly.

If a theft occurs, avoid touching anything and contact the police as soon as possible.

Provide CCTV, dashcam footage, serial numbers and photographs of stolen property where available.

Remember

"Lock it, Remove it, Hide it." Most thefts from vehicles are opportunistic. Removing valuables and ensuring vehicles are securely locked are the simplest and most effective ways to reduce the risk.
