The Priorities Update on Area 6 |

Good evening folks, This following update outlines the progress made on the community priorities for your area by the Local Policing Inspector Craig, in collaboration with the Safer Neighbourhood Supervisors, Sgt Adams and PCSO Supervisor Wallington-Waite and Partners. Community priorities are reviewed and set on a quarterly basis, guiding the focus of the Safer Neighbourhood Team’s activity, in this update, you’ll find:
• A summary of the previous priorities • The actions taken and outcomes achieved • The new priorities for the upcoming quarter
New priorities are determined by analysing local crime trends and incorporating feedback from you, the community, through engagement events, surveys and direct contact. The previous priorities for area 6 including , Drakelow, The Seal's, Walton- On -Trent and surrounding areas were:
1 - Anti social behaviour (ASB), including anti-social vehicle use. 2 - Serious acquisitive crime.
Action Taken and Outcomes: PCSO Thompson has worked and will continue working closely with Midland Heart Housing Association, to deter ASB at Dracan Village in which they have conducted joint ASB Awareness walks and jointly visited residents. Derbyshire Alert registrations have been completed in the area to alert residents to any local events/ crimes/ incidents or issues. School talks have been given at local primary schools around ASB/Safety/Crime and how we help. Speed checks have been completed on Dracan Village, Rosliston Road, Coton road, Overseal, Cauldwell Road – Five Traffic Offence Reports issued for driving offences. ASB warning letters have been sent to parents of youths found to be causing issues at an abandoned property in Castle Gresley. Monthly Community Catch up events are attended by PCSO Thompson in Overseal and Coton- in- the -Elms offering crime prevention advice. New priorities: Following this review, the SNT has identified that the priorities for the upcoming quarter will remain the same: 1 - Anti social behaviour (ASB), including anti-social vehicle use. 2 - Serious acquisitive crime.
We will- Address Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), including anti-social vehicle use Conduct high visibility patrols. Work with the Youth Engagement Team to prevent offending and tackle ASB at source. Work with partners to tackle ASB. Engage with young people through school engagements, raising awareness of anti-social behaviour. Conduct road safety operations, working with specialist units such as Roads Policing where needed. Gather feedback from and work with the local community. Serious Acquisitive Crime: Continue high visibility and plain clothes patrols in hotspot areas. Share crime prevention advice through social media, community events and Derbyshire Alert. Promote security measures such as tool marking, steering locks and CCTV. Work with partners including local authorities, bordering police forces and national policing teams.
