🚒🔥 Fire Safety Message – Bradlaugh Fields, Northampton 🔥🚒 |
||
|
Today, police and Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service attended a small fire in Bradlaugh Fields, Northampton, after school books and rubbish had been deliberately set alight. Thankfully, the fire was extinguished quickly and no one was injured. However, this incident could have had far more serious consequences. With the current dry weather conditions, the surrounding grass was extremely dry and could easily have caught fire. The location is also close to residential properties and a petrol station, meaning there was a very real risk that the fire could have spread rapidly and placed people, homes and businesses at risk. ⚠️ A small fire can quickly become a major emergency. We would like to remind parents, carers and young people that setting fires, even as a prank or out of curiosity, can have devastating consequences. Fires can spread unpredictably, putting lives at risk and causing significant damage to the environment and local community. Fire Safety Advice✅ Never leave fires unattended. Reporting ConcernsIf you see suspicious behaviour, deliberate fire-setting, or antisocial behaviour in your area, please report it: 📞 999 if there is an immediate risk to life or property. We thank members of the public who reported this incident and helped emergency services respond quickly. Working together, we can help protect our parks, open spaces and communities from preventable fires.
