Concerns regarding parking

Good afternoon,

It has been highlighted to our Neighbourhood Policing Team that there have been some issues regarding parking in Old Skelmersdale, most notably on Ormskirk Road, School Lane and Kiln Lane.

We would like to remind everyone that we are monitoring these issues and any reports made to us will result in words of advice being given to the owner of the vehicle. If words of advice have already been given, then further action will result in a fixed penalty notice being issued to the vehicle owner.

Please ensure that no vehicles are blocking public highways (e.g pavements). We understand that if vehicles can't be parked on the driveway then they will have to be semi parked on the pavement. However, please ensure the following:

enough room must be left on pavements for pedestrians, a mobility scooter, wheelchair, pram, etc, to get past.

no parking on double yellow lines, unless stated otherwise via signage for purposes of loading/ unloading.

no parking on zig zag lines outside schools.

no parking within 10 metres of a junction, unless it is in an authorised parking space.

no parking in front of someone's driveway or in a way that blocks someone's driveway.
