Stolen items and air weapons seized.

Yesterday, officers conducted a warrant under the Animal Welfare Act at the Star Lane Traveller site.

As a result of the operation, one male was arrested on suspicion of offences relating to cock fighting and handling stolen goods. Officers recovered three air weapons, and also over 50 saddles which are believed to have been stolen recently from a riding centre in Kent.

The operation was carried out alongside partner agencies, with veterinary professionals and the RSPCA attending the site to assess the welfare of animals. A number of occupants received advice and formal warnings regarding animal care and welfare standards.

This outcome demonstrates the value of joint working between policing and partner agencies in tackling criminality, safeguarding animal welfare, and recovering property for victims of crime.
