Hi all,

We are aware of recent fires that've been set on the fields between Nottingham Road, and West Park School. A suspicious male was found lurking at the scene upon the arrival of emergency services, and was subsequently arrested. He has since been released under investigation, and with bail conditions not to attend the area. PCSO Wright has been to the area along with a Community Safety Officer from the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service conducting a leaflet drop to make the residents aware, and to come forward with any further information they may have.

A male has been arrested for failing to appear at court, which also saw him saying goodbye to his illegal e-scooter which has been seized and destroyed. Again, e-scooters are illegal. What makes them illegal is due to the law classifying them as motor vehicles (or "powered transporters"). This means they require insurance, registration, tax, and a driving license, which standard private e-scooters cannot get. We will continue to take action whenever and wherever we can.
