year 6 transition talk at The Discovery School Kings Hill |
||
|
We know that moving to secondary school is both an exciting and sometimes nerve-wracking experience. The pupils were brilliant throughout the session, asking lots of thoughtful questions and sharing some excellent ideas about how they can prepare for the changes ahead. We discussed the differences they may experience, including travelling to and from school independently, navigating busier roads and larger towns, and the importance of planning journeys in advance. Road safety was a key topic, particularly for those who cycle to school. We talked about the importance of always being aware of their surroundings. E-scooters were also a popular subject of discussion. As they continue to be an ongoing issue in many towns, it was great to have the opportunity to talk to the pupils about the laws surrounding their use. A huge thank you to The Discovery School for welcoming me today. I wish all of the Year 6 pupils the very best as they move on to their new secondary schools and begin an exciting new chapter!
