MAN CHARGED WITH 6 OFFENCES

A man is due to appear in court charged with six offences after a young girl was seriously injured in a collision involving a motorbike in Tamworth.

We were called to a footpath across a playing field near to Cambrian on Monday (13 July), following reports that a black motorbike, with a rider and passenger, had collided with a young girl who was on a push bike at around 4.20pm.

The girl was taken to hospital by ambulance where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Her injuries are believed to be potentially life-changing.

Corey Griffiths, 20, from Tamworth, will appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre tomorrow (Thursday 16 July) after being charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop following a road accident, failing to report a road accident, use a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and handling stolen goods

The 16-year-old boy, who was also arrested, has been released on conditional bail.
