On Saturday 11 July, Medway Community Safety (CSU) officers were proud to join the annual Medway Peace Walk, organised by the Medway Inter Faith Association. Bringing together local councillors, faith leaders, community representatives, the Deputy Mayor of Medway, and residents from across our towns, the event was a powerful reminder that our differences are a strength and that unity is built through understanding, respect and friendship. At the Rochester War Memorial, a Medway CSU Inspector spoke about the importance of communities coming together and celebrating the diversity that makes Medway such a vibrant place to live. He highlighted that strong relationships with all our communities are at the heart of neighbourhood policing, helping to build trust, confidence and safer communities for everyone.
Events like the Peace Walk show what can be achieved when people of different backgrounds, faiths and cultures stand side by side with a shared commitment to peace, compassion and community cohesion.
Thank you to the Medway Inter Faith Association and everyone who took part in making the day such a positive and inspiring occasion.
Together we are stronger. Together we build safer communities.
