Burglary at Tidnor Wood Orchards, Lugwardine

We are appealing for information following a burglary that occurred overnight between 5th and 6th July 2026 at Tidnor Wood Orchards, Lugwardine.

An intruder gained access to a barn on the premises and stole approximately £1,400 worth of equipment, including:

We are continuing to investigate this incident and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have noticed suspicious activity, unusual vehicle movements, or anything else that seemed out of place.

🔒 Protecting Rural Buildings and Equipment

Outbuildings, barns and agricultural premises can be attractive targets for thieves. We would encourage landowners and rural businesses to consider the following security measures:

✅ Ensure barns, sheds and outbuildings are secured with robust locks and padlocks.

✅ Install CCTV systems covering access points, gateways and storage areas.

✅ Use motion-activated lighting to deter offenders and improve visibility at night.

✅ Consider forensic property marking products such as SmartWater to help identify and recover stolen items.

✅ Record serial numbers and photograph valuable equipment and tools.

✅ Store high-value items out of sight where possible and secure fuel tanks with appropriate locks and security measures.

✅ Regularly review site security and report any suspicious activity promptly.
