Daily activity update July 11th & 12th |

Dear residents of City West policing area,
This message is to update on our activity during the last two shifts.
Saturday was our first shift back from rest days. We were deployed on a 7pm – 4am nightshift to assist with patrols around licensed venues showing England's World Cup quarter final tie with Norway. Several of our team were deployed around Nottingham city centre, while I was deployed around Clifton, Ruddington and The Meadows. Our duties included completing checks on licensed venues like bars to pubs to establish how busy they were, if they were showing the match and how many door staff they had on.
Our calls included a report of a disorder with bouncers being assaulted at a pub in Ruddington. The suspects had left by the time we arrived, but we established there were no serious injuries with those involved barred. Enquiries remain ongoing with the investigation. After the full-time whistle, we were then deployed to assist with night-time economy patrols in the city centre. Again, this included numerous reports of disorder, but there were no serious injuries involved. These deployments are a normal part of policing operations during the World Cup and will continue this week with England's semi-final match with Argentina. #ITSCOMINGHOME
We were then back on duty yesterday at 2pm. I was crewed with PCs Shaw and Hussain to assist with enquiries for a man wanted on recall to prison. We located him at his partner's address where he was arrested and taken to custody. While being booked into custody, he disclosed he required medication, so we then returned to his partner's address to get his keys for his own property to retrieve his medication.
Once this was completed, we assisted officers in Radford. They needed help transporting several male youths who were arrested after alleged incident with a machete and where a crowd was gathering on the street. We were able to safely detain and transport one of the youths to custody. We remained at custody with the male youth until one of his family could attend to act as his appropriate adult. This is standard procedure in cases involving those aged under 18. We finally returned to Broxtowe Police Station at about 1030pm.
