Bogus Tradespeople

Dear resident,

Please be aware that it is suspected that bogus traders have been operating in the area of Lickhill Road targeting elderly residents claiming that they need work on their roofs.

Always check the credibility of a tradesperson, especially those who cold call by visiting your home. Ask for ID. Never let anyone in to your home that you do not know and do not hand over any money unless you are certain that the tradesperson is reputable and ideally not until any work is completed.

There are numerous websites where tradespeople can register so that you can complete some background checks before you commit to any work. If you do not have access to the internet please ask a friend or family member for help.
