Dear Resident,

We're in another spell of hot weather! This is a reminder about keeping yourself and your home safe in the heat.

Hot weather spells can see an increase in opportunistic crime.

Remember:

Always lock all doors and windows, even if you're only stepping out for a short time.

Keep valuables - such as laptops, handbags, and cash - out of sight from windows and entryways.

Regularly check that all locks are functioning properly and meet recommended security standards.

Use outdoor security lighting and install timers on indoor lights to give the impression that someone is home.

Secure garages, sheds and other outbuildings by keeping them locked and well-maintained.
