Weekly update from the South Yardley Neighbourhood policing team. |
Dear Members, Here’s a quick round up from the South Yardley neighbourhood policing team. Again, it has been busy for us and with the weather changes this can also have an impact on us with an increase in incidents. As a result, we are still supporting Response with incidents which can range between 2-3 officers being used in the day. With that being said, here is the breakdown: The team have seized 6 vehicles; this has been for no tax including, issuing 2 tickets for drivers having no seat belts and no booster seat. During this time, officers have set up and attended residential meetings following up from local all-out days with key partners, sites being assessed for CCTV to assist with building evidence to those that continue to break the law and cause ASB in the area. We know there are concerns around Clements Road and surrounding. As a result, we are working with the Local Councillor Baber Baz to assist with engaging with residents to complete our ASB survey of any ongoing issues. We are asking for any incidents occurring or has any information/intelligence to be reported to us, this will assist us further in making decisions and enables us to reach out to key partners to support where required. All details can be found below on how to report to us. If you wish to remain anonymous, then please let us know. We will also be looking into conducting a residents meeting in the coming months for this set area. We are currently looking for a location to host us nearby. This is currently ongoing and once this has been secured all details will be shared for those residents only. We appreciate those that have reported to us so this can be dealt with. We ask for those residents to bear with us during this time as this takes some time to organise and put together. We have secured more community days on South Yardley. 1 in Small Heath Park and the other in Oaklands Recreational Grounds. Please see below for more information. There have been more litter picks taking place in the area with and without us. We want to thank our community for being involved in this voluntarily. This can have a huge impact on the area in such a positive way. If you would like us to join any Litter picks or events, please contact us and we will do everything we can to be involved. Small Heath Park had once recently on 5th July, and this was a success. Officers and PCSOs have also been attending to schools providing inputs on various topics to assist with preventing crime and breaking barriers down between the police and children of all ages.
We will continue to keep you informed on all taking place in the local community.
