Local Drug dealing / Drug use Message

Here’s a quick update on drugs dealing crime in your area, please be reassured that we’re taking this seriously and are here to help.

SNT officers on patrol on Saturday 4th July in Owen Close, Thamesmead, SE28 recognised a male who is known for previous offences and who they knew to be wanted by police as an outstanding named suspect for being concerned in the supply of drugs.

The male was arrested by PC Yves MAPLI-KPAKPOE and subsequently found to have a lock knife concealed on his person when searched. He was further arrested, charged and remanded in custody for the offence of Possess knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place - Criminal Justice Act 1988.

A fine example of Police listening and acting on the concerns of local residents and in doing so issuing a warning to any criminals wanting to tarnish the reputation of Thamesmead that any criminality will be dealt with robustly and those responsible will face the full force of the law.

Drug dealing is often linked with violent crime and the exploitation of vulnerable people, and discarded drug equipment can be a health risk and counts as antisocial behaviour.  

We’ve put hundreds more officers on the frontlines of community crime-fighting teams, upping visible patrols in the right ‘hot spots’ so we can deter and catch criminals.
