Your Gospel Oak community needs you…. |
||
|
Four times a year, your Safer Neighbourhood Team holds a Gospel Oak Ward Panel meeting. These meetings are an opportunity for Gospel Oak residents to tell us what matters most to them and to discuss how the police, alongside our partner agencies can help address local concerns. The success of the Ward Panel relies on the commitment and involvement of members of the community who are passionate about making Gospel Oak a better place to live, work and visit.
Following the retirement of our previous Ward Panel Chair in December last year, we have been working hard to find someone to take on this important role. I am delighted to announce that we have found a fantastic volunteer who is highly motivated and dedicated to supporting the Gospel Oak community.
Rosalyn has generously offered her time to serve as the new Gospel Oak Ward Panel Chair. Through this role, she will help ensure that the voices of Gospel Oak residents are heard and represented. Thank you, Rosalyn, for stepping forward and taking on this important role.
Yesterday, we held a development meeting with some of our partners, which was chaired by Rosalyn and I am pleased to share that plans are now underway to refresh the Gospel Oak Ward Panel and broaden representation from across the ward.
We are keen to welcome participation from Tenants’ and Residents’ Associations, community groups, local businesses and residents who want to play an active role in improving community safety, engagement and communication.
Our aim is to build a representative, inclusive and constructive forum that helps identify local priorities, strengthens community engagement and enhances collaboration between residents, partner organisations and the Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team. If you are interested in becoming involved in the Ward Panel, I would be delighted to hear from you.
Any future Panel membership will need to reflect the representative aims of the Panel and align with the Metropolitan Police Ward Panel framework.
Strong communities are built when people come together to support one another. By working in partnership, we can help make Gospel Oak an even safer and stronger community.
If you would like to find out more about the Gospel Oak Ward Panel or are interested in joining and helping to shape local priorities, please send me a message via Met Engage. We would all be delighted to hear from you and discuss how you can get involved.
