We're looking for a Water Infrastructure & Planning Manager to lead a critical function within our Fire and Rescue Service, ensuring firefighters have the water resources they need, exactly when they need them.
π₯ What you'll be doing β
Leading the strategic planning and delivery of firefighting water supply infrastructure
β
Working with water authorities, developers and planning teams to secure reliable water sources β
Managing inspections, audits and maintenance of hydrants and other water assets β
Ensuring compliance with national standards and regulations β
Leading and developing a high-performing team β
Exploring commercial opportunities including private hydrants, dry risers and fire extinguisher services to generate income
What we're looking for β GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths β Intermediate IT skills, including MS Office β Experience in financial planning and budget monitoring β Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills β Sound analytical thinking and decision-making abilities β Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable experience β Local Authority or Public Utilities experience β Knowledge of firefighting water supplies and infrastructure β Experience using GIS (Graphical Information Systems) β Understanding of Fire Service operations or emergency response procedures
