Thankyou to of you who have taken the time to rate or give feedback on our messages on Bee In the Loop. We have received several comments from residents who have mentioned they don't receive enough or all of the the messages we send out.
Bee In The Loop uses the address you gave when signing up alongside the preferences for which types or categories you are interested in to determine which messages you receive. This is to ensure that users are not overwhelmed by messages and only receive messages that are appropriate and relevant.
While some messages are sent to the everyone such as meetings notices, many of the messages we send are sent to much smaller areas be that “beat areas” roughly equating to electoral wards, neighbourhoods, streets or even parts of street. The Bee In the Loop system allows us to select custom areas as small as 1 square metre and we use this function to ensure we only send messages and requests to people within the relevant areas or streets. Each message is categorised before sending and is only delivered to those who have indicated an interest in that type of message. It is for these reasons some users may see far fewer messages than others.
A recent example is a message we sent appealing for CCTV and witnesses to a burglary that occurred in the Bury Road area. This message was sent to the area immediately around the offence location encompassing the approach / egress points to the offence location and not to users over a mile away. A more general message was sent to the wider area advising of a small increase in burglary in the area and offering crime reduction advice and requesting increased vigilance.
Bee In The Loop allows users to add additional addresses to their profiles that will allow you to receive relevant notifications for those areas. This would be ideal for people who have a business n the GMP area or a relative who they care for in the areas.
If you wish to add an additional address to receive notifications for simply follow the below instructions….
