⚽ Enjoy the Football – But Keep Safety in the Game ⚽

North Yorkshire Police is reminding everyone to make responsible choices if you're planning to enjoy the football and have a drink.

If alcohol is part of your plans, arrange a safe journey home before you go out. Consider using a taxi, designated driver, public transport, or staying overnight with friends or family. Never risk getting behind the wheel after drinking alcohol, and don't let friends or loved ones do so either.

🚗 Drink-driving ruins lives. Even a small amount of alcohol can impair your judgement, slow your reactions, and increase the likelihood of a serious collision.

We also want to remind motorists that watching football on a mobile phone, tablet, or other device whilst driving is extremely dangerous and illegal. Taking your eyes off the road for even a few seconds can have devastating consequences.

✅ Look after your friends and family.
✅ Keep your full attention on the road at all times.
✅ Never drive after drinking alcohol.
❌ Don't watch football or livestream sporting events whilst driving.
