Appeal for information and dash cam footage following serious assault on A10

 Detectives investigating a serious assault which has occurred on the A10, are appealing for witnesses and information.

The incident occurred between 7am and 7.10am today (Tuesday 7 July) on the #A10 southbound carriageway heading towards #Ware near to the Puckeridge roundabout.

The victim, a man in his 40s was parked in a layby in a white BMW X1 to take a phone call, before he was approached at this window by two men, who seriously assaulted him.

The offender(s) attempted to take the victim’s wallet, before making off in an unknown direction.

The victim was taken to hospital by paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service with serious injuries.

 Detective Sergeant Abi Mack who is investigating said: “I am appealing for dash cam footage and information relating to this incident.

“If you believe you were driving at the time of the incident and remember seeing either the incident or the events leading up to it or after it, then please get in touch.

“I understand that this may have caused some concern in the local community, this is being treated as an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public.

“There are reassurance patrols in the area, if you have any concerns, please feel free to speak to officers.”
