Warm Weather Burglary

As the weather gets warmer, its natural to open windows and patio doors to keep your home cool. Unfortunately, burglars usually take advantage of insecure homes during the summer. Follow these simple steps to protect your home:

Always lock doors and windows when you leave the house, even if its just for a few minutes

Never leave ground floor patio doors or windows open and unattended especially at the rear of your property

Keep valuables such as keys, handbags, wallets, and car keys away from and out of sight from doors and windows

Remove ladders, tools, and garden furniture that could be used to gain access to your property

Use outdoor lighting and security cameras where possible, and consider using timer switches for indoor lights if you are away

Look out for your neighbours and report any suspicious behaviour to the police

A few simple precautions can make a big difference. don't give burglars an easy opportunity- secure your doors and windows every time you leave your home and go to bed.
