Subject: Ward Priorities – Next 3 Months Dear All, Following the recent Ward Panel discussions, the agreed priorities for the next three months are outlined below. These priorities will remain the focus until the next Ward Panel Meeting in September. 1. Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) A significant focus will be placed on increasing engagement with young women and girls across the ward. This will include: Conducting more Walk and Talk initiatives with young women and girls to better understand their experiences and concerns.Identifying and securing additional locations to host VAWG engagement stalls within the community.Encouraging open conversations to identify issues affecting their feelings of safety.Working collaboratively with residents, partners, schools, local organisations and community groups to develop practical solutions that improve safety and confidence within the ward.We are committed to ensuring that the voices of young women and girls are heard and that action is taken to address the issues they raise. 2. Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and Drugs There is continued concern regarding ASB and drug-related activity in identified hotspot locations. As a result: Regular patrols will be conducted in Treahearn Road, Thurlow Gardens, Davis Way, and surrounding areas.Officers and PCSOs will carry out proactive patrols targeting individuals involved in ASB and drug-related activity.Additional street briefings will be arranged within hotspot locations to provide reassurance, engage with residents and gather intelligence regarding ongoing concerns. We will continue to work with partner agencies to tackle persistent issues and improve the quality of life for local residents.3. Increased Police Presence A visible and proactive police presence remains a key priority for the ward. Regular foot patrols will be conducted in identified hotspot locations and areas where crimes have been reported.Patrols will focus on crime prevention, reassurance, community engagement and intelligence gathering.Residents can expect to see an increased police presence aimed at reducing crime, addressing community concerns and enhancing public confidence. We remain committed to tackling the issues that matter most to our community and will continue to provide a visible, proactive and responsive policing presence throughout the ward. The next Ward Panel Meeting will take place in September, where progress against these priorities will be reviewed. |
