Community concerns acted on at St Awdry’s Walk IG11 8EA |

Dear Residents, Your local Neighbourhood policing team have been working with partners to help improve safety and reassurance around St Awdry’s Walk, IG11 8EA. Following concerns raised by residents about anti social behaviour, discarded rubbish, drug paraphernalia and overgrown bushes affecting visibility in the area, PCSOs carried out regular patrols and worked to identify a long term solution. The overgrown bushes had created hidden areas, making it difficult for residents, officers and CCTV to clearly see the location. This contributed to local people feeling uneasy when walking past the area or living nearby. After liaising with partner agencies, a targeted clear up was arranged. The Community Payback team attended and cleared rubbish and drug related paraphernalia, as well as cutting back the bushes to open up the area and improve visibility. This work has helped make the location feel safer, cleaner and less attractive for anti social behaviour. Officers will continue to patrol the area and work with partners to monitor ongoing concerns. Thank you to residents who reported these issues to us. Your reports help us understand where problems are happening and allow us to work with the right partners to take action. Please continue to report any concerns to police 101 or 999 in an emergency.
