Dear resident,
We hope you have had a great week. I am writing to provide you with an update on what the Bettws Neighbourhood Policing team has been doing across our ward areas.
This week officers from the team have been carrying out patrols across our ward areas. As a result:
✅ One person was arrested for vehicle interference and possession of Class A drugs. ✅ Two people were arrested for vehicle taking which resulted in a vehicle being recovered. ✅ A stolen motorbike was located and seized. ✅ Multiple stop searches carried out throughout patrols.
These proactive patrols provide reassurance to our communities that we are focused on deterring and reducing criminal activity.
As you may have seen on social media, our PCSOs have also been engaging with our communities, attending engagement events and working closely with partner agencies as part of ASB awareness week. This focuses on tackling anti-social behaviour and safeguarding vulnerable people which is at the heart of our neighbourhood policing approach. If you see the team out and about, stop us and say hello.
To report any issues, please contact 101, online via the Gwent Police website or direct message on Facebook. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
As always, thank you for your continued support and I hope you enjoy the rest of the week.
