Prolific Shoplifter Charged Following Charity Shop Thefts |
||
|
Dear Resident,
We're writing to update you about what the Kentish Town Safer Neighbourhood Team have been up to recently.
On Sunday 28 June, officers from Kentish Town North & South conducted a plain-clothes Op Retail patrol on Kentish Town Road as part of our ongoing efforts to tackle shoplifting and support local businesses and charities. During the operation, officers identified a prolific shoplifter targeting two charity shops on Kentish Town Road – MIND and the PDSA. The suspect was detained after leaving the premises with unpaid items. A total of £87.49 worth of goods had been stolen, including clothing, toiletries and footwear. All stolen property was recovered by officers and returned to the charity shops.
The suspect was arrested by Kentish Town SNT officers, charged with shoplifting and will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court.
Shoplifting has a significant impact on local businesses and charities, diverting valuable time and resources away from serving our community. We remain committed to tackling retail crime, identifying repeat offenders and taking positive action against those who target our high streets.
A busy weekend ahead for London This weekend, officers from across London will be supporting a number of events taking place across the capital, including Pride in London. Residents can expect to see a visible policing presence in central London, with officers deployed to help keep people safe, prevent crime and respond swiftly to any incidents. While additional resources will be supporting these events, local neighbourhood officers will continue carrying out their usual duties and protecting communities across London.
Have a great weekend, and thank you for your continued support! | ||
