A dispersal order has been put in place in North Hykeham following reports of anti-social behaviour last Friday evening (26 June). The order follows a number of incidents reported last week.
In a post published on Tuesday addressing the issue, Inspector Rachel Blackwell said:
“We know the vast majority of our young people want to enjoy these final weeks of term with friends, and we absolutely support that. However, the rowdy and intimidating behaviour we saw last Friday is entirely unacceptable.
"People should be able to visit local businesses and spend time in their neighbourhoods without feeling anxious or intimidated.
"We’re asking parents and guardians to support us by knowing where their children are, who they are with, and helping them understand the consequences of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour.”
The dispersal order is in force from 4pm Friday 3 July until 4pm Sunday 5 July and covers parts of North Hykeham, including the Forum shopping centre and neighbouring residential areas. Please refer to the map below for details of the designated area.
The order provides officers with additional powers to direct individuals to leave the area and not return for a specified period where their behaviour is causing, or is likely to cause, anti-social behaviour.
Anyone with information about incidents of anti-social behaviour in the area is asked to contact our Force Control Room on 101, quoting Incident 251 of 3 July.
