Dear Residents,
A 21-year-old man has been convicted of the attempted murder of a teenage boy following a shooting in a Corby woodland last year.
Following a month-long trial at Northampton Crown Court, it took the jury more than 10 hours to deliberate and return a majority (10-2) verdict, finding Matas Sukaitis guilty of attempted murder.
The jury also returned majority guilty verdicts on two further counts –possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a bladed article in a public place – at yesterday’s (Thursday, July 2) hearing.
Sukaitis, formerly of Chaucer Close in Corby, will be sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on September 18.
