Neighbourhood Policing Team Weekly Update |

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Dorset Police received a report from our partners in the BCP CCTV control room that a commercial burglary was taking place in #PooleTown. Officers attended, however the two suspects made off. Later that morning one of the suspects was sighted again by the control room and Poole NPT officers deployed immediately on blues, after a short pursuit one male was detained and arrested under suspicion of theft x 2 and burglary. With one suspect outstanding it was only a matter of time before they were sighted in town by camera operators and detained by Poole BID security (SWL Security), Poole NPT arrived and arrested the individual under suspicion of burglary. Two bicycles have been recovered and a full investigation is underway, we will seek to reunite the owners of the bicycles as soon as possible (picture 2).
On Wednesday PCSOs Jason, Matt and Mike attended the Dolphin Centre to host our regular Community Contact Point. We were joined by Cat and Sammie from the BCP Antisocial Behaviour Team as part of Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week. Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week see's agencies come together to highlight their combined efforts to tackle issues that are affecting local communities and the innovative approaches they are taking to address them. Dorset Police recognises that ASB is not something that can be solved by policing alone and a joined approach is the key to taking action that makes a real difference to the lives of residents. Thank you to the 40+ members of the public who came over to speak to us to complete surveys, discuss ASB issues they have experienced and to receive the correct contact details for reporting. If you would like to reach out to the BCP ASB Team to make a report or seek advice you can contact them on 📞 01202 128883 or email 📧 asbteam@bcpcouncil.gov.uk (picture 3).

*Cuckooing is when Organised Crime Groups (OCGs) or perpetrators take over properties through force, deceit or coercion. It is often included with County Lines activity, occurring when gangs take control over a vulnerable adult's address, as a site to store/supply/produce drugs from.
