Theft from Motor Vehicle - Warwick Road - Borehamwood

Between 30/06/2026 8.30am - 11:49am, A Theft from a vehicle occurred in Warwick Road, Borehamwood

Victim has arrived at work parked up and left their vehicle locked up and secure inside a residents/employees area only.

Victim has come out and seen that their motorcycle helmet and index plate at the back has been stolen, They have looked on CCTV and it shows that at 11.49 a male approaches the bike, and it looks like he has yanked it off and taken the helmet from the handlebars. He has then put the plates into his under seat compartment and held the helmet on his lap and driven off.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers and steering wheel locks.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

Secure number plates with anti-theft screws.
