Local Priorities Mobile phone theft Message

I wanted to provide an update regarding Mobile phone theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Our Safer Neighbourhood Team is aware of recent reports of mobile phone thefts in and around Well Street. We understand the concern this has caused within the local community and are taking proactive action to address the issue.

Officers will be carrying out increased high visibility patrols in the Well Street area, focusing on known hotspot locations and peak times. We are working to identify offenders, gather intelligence and take positive enforcement action where appropriate.

We encourage everyone to remain vigilant, keep mobile phones out of sight when not in use, avoid using devices close to the roadside, and report any suspicious behaviour to police. If you witness a crime in progress, call 999 immediately. If you have any information about those responsible, please report it via 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
