🚨 Warning to E-Scooter Users 🚨 |
We are continuing to see an increase in the use of privately owned e-scooters on public roads, pavements, and public spaces. Please be aware that riding a private e-scooter in these areas may be illegal and could result in enforcement action.
If you are stopped by the police while using a privately owned e-scooter unlawfully, your e-scooter may be seized and removed, and you could face further action, including fines, penalty points, or prosecution depending on the circumstances. Before using an e-scooter, make sure you understand the current legal requirements and where it can be ridden lawfully. Ignorance of the law is not a defence, and losing an e-scooter through seizure can be both costly and inconvenient.
Our aim is to keep everyone safe and prevent accidents involving pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users. Please use e-scooters responsibly and ensure you are complying with the law. Think before you ride – if you're not sure it's legal, don't risk it.
