Joint Patrols

Joint Patrols at St Mary's Church Cemetery.

This week, officers from Ilford Town Safer Neighbourhood Team have been working alongside the Redbridge Community Taskforce to conduct joint patrols in and around St Mary's Church Cemetery in response to concerns raised by local residents and community members.

The patrols have focused on tackling anti-social behaviour, including rough sleeping, littering, and reports of damage to headstones within the cemetery. The aim of this ongoing work is to improve the environment, address criminality where identified, and ensure the cemetery remains a respectful and safe place for visitors.

During the operation, officers engaged with individuals in the area, issued a number of Anti-Social Behaviour warnings, and made one arrest following proactive police action.

We understand the impact that anti-social behaviour can have on the local community and are committed to working with our partners to address these concerns. We will continue to carry out patrols and work closely with the Redbridge Community Taskforce and other partner agencies to tackle issues affecting the cemetery and surrounding area.
