Fatal road traffic collision, Mid Devon

We are investigating a fatal road traffic collision in Mid Devon and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Officers were notified of the collision on a rural road at East Worlington at around 1.20pm on Wednesday 1 July, which involved a John Deere tractor towing a trailer and an electric-assisted bicycle.

As a result of the collision, the cyclist, a local man in his 80s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The road was closed for some time whilst the investigation took place. The vehicles were recovered and the scene was handed over to the local authority just before 11pm.
