St Mary's Mini Police Visit Bury HQ St Mary's Mini Police have been busy once again, this time enjoying an exciting and educational visit to Bury HQ. The officers took part in a realistic burglary investigation led by Scenes of Crime Officer J. Following a report of a burglary, the group were tasked with examining the crime scene and gathering evidence. They had the opportunity to take forensic swabs, lift fingerprints and footprints, and recover fabric samples from the scene. The investigation also included the discovery of blood evidence, which needed to be correctly identified and recorded, along with several other clues that helped the Mini Police build a profile of the suspect. After gathering the evidence, the group quickly spotted the suspect and immediately apprehended him on suspicion of burglary. The suspect was then taken into custody, where Inspector Edwards booked him into custody and authorised his detention. Two of the Mini Police officers then conducted an interview with the suspect, presenting the evidence they had collected during their investigation. The interviewers did an excellent job, asking a mixture of clever and humorous questions. Their persistence paid off, as the suspect eventually cracked and admitted responsibility for the burglary. A fantastic day of learning and teamwork, giving the Mini Police a valuable insight into forensic investigation, custody procedures, and the importance of gathering evidence to solve crimes. 👮♂️🔍👮♀️
