Residents are urged to remain vigilant following an attempted theft of a roof-mounted tent box during the early hours of the morning.
Two males approached a vehicle in the Castleford area and attempted to remove a tent box attached to the roof. Their actions disturbed nearby residents, who witnessed the incident and contacted the police, causing the suspects to flee the area.
The suspects were described as: The offenders managed to remove several bolts securing the tent box to the roof bars but were unable to steal it. The tent box remained attached and was not otherwise damaged.
This incident highlights that roof-mounted accessories, such as tent boxes, roof boxes, bike racks and similar equipment, can be attractive targets for thieves.
