MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING INCIDENT IN CANNOCK

A man has been arrested after a woman was approached by a man with a knife on Shoal Hill Common yesterday (Monday 29 June).

We received a report at 2.30pm that a woman had been approached by a man with a knife. The man then attempted to grab the woman.

The woman was not injured.

A 40-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted kidnap.

He remains in custody for questioning.

We are looking to identify a dog walker who we think may have been in the area at the time that could help us with our enquiries. He is described as a white man, roughly in his 60s, of a slim build and clean shaven. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket and a brown / green flat cap.
