Update from the Norton Neighbourhood Policing Team
Dear Residents,
We are continuing to target local robberies, illegal drivers, those involved in violence and anti-social behaviour in the Norton area.
What’s been happening
Again, local officers have been carrying out extra patrols around Mary Stevens Park due to two reported robberies and an increase of anti-social behaviour by groups of youths.
Officers have targeted illegal scooters in the area. Two youths have been identified and dealt with accordingly in conjunction with other agencies.
A prolific shoplifter has been arrested in the commission of the offence having been responsible for two local thefts.
If you have noticed any suspicious vehicle in your road or that appear to have been abandoned, please let us know so we can do some enquiries and deal with accordingly.
There has been reports of residents having number plates stolen overnight. Please do report any stolen number plates to 101 or WMP Webchat.
We have had an attempted burglary whereby offenders are believed to be targeting vehicles on the drive. Please see advice around vehicle security on last week’s post and I encourage you to use steering locks and faraday pouches.
Off road bikes, e bikes and scooters are a nuisance in all areas - any information, photographs of the riders or bikes is a big help to the police, this will help get these vehicles removed from our streets.
We regularly hold police surgeries and drop-in sessions for you to come along and get advice on crime prevention, protecting your homes or cars etc. Unfortunately, this weeks drop in St Michaels Church had to be cancelled at late notice. Our next events are Doverton House , Love Lane, 14-07-26 between 12-00 -13-00 Iverley Care Home, Norton Road, 25-07-26 between 13-00 -15-00 St Michaels Church, Maynard Ave, 22-07-26 between 12.00 – 13.00
A big thanks to
