George Clark 180th Anniversary

Tonight marks 180 years since the murder of PC George Clark on the streets of Dagenham...and 180 years without justice.

During what should have been a routine night patrol back in 1846, 20-year-old George was killed. His body was found days later close to what is current-day Barking and Dagenham College.

Police perjury and a suspected slayer slipping off to Australia meant no one was ever held responsible for George's death.

Today, 2026 remembers George.

In recent years, Rick has set out on 4 anniversary night patrols following in the footsteps of George. A bench dedicated to the fallen officer can also be found at the Eastbrookend Country Park, just a short walk from the Discovery Centre.
