E-Bike Theft on Gale Lane

Dear Resident,

Overnight on Saturday 27th June (between 21:30hrs and 08:30hrs), a van (Black Vauxhall Vivaro) parked on Gale Lane near Tudor Road has had an E-bike stolen from the back where it was well secured. The e-bike can be described as a German Kalaoff bike which is black with red markings.

1. Use two high‑quality locks

D‑lock + reinforced chain/cable is the recommended combination.

Look for Sold Secure Gold or Diamond rated locks.

2. Lock the frame and both wheels

Secure the frame to an immovable object.

If possible, remove the front wheel and lock it together with the frame and rear wheel.

3. Choose the right location

Park in well‑lit, busy, CCTV‑covered areas.

Avoid isolated cycle racks or locations that allow someone to work unseen.
