Dear Residents,

On Saturday 4th July at 2pm, The De Beauvoir Safer Neighbourhood Team will be attending the annual Party in the Park at De Beauvoir Square (N1).

I’m pleased to let you know that we will have phone marking kits available on the day. We will be offering this service on a first come, first served basis, so please do come along early if you would like your phone marked.

A phone marking kit applies a unique, tamper-resistant identifier to your device and registers it on a secure police-approved database. It acts as a major visual deterrent against thieves, helps prove ownership if the device is recovered, and allows police to quickly return lost or stolen phones to their rightful owners.

Here are the key ways a phone marking kit works and protects you:

Uniquely Identifiable: The kit usually contains a high-strength, hard-to-remove sticker with a unique QR code or a code connected to a forensic database

Deters Thieves: Phones marked with visible stickers and warning labels become less desirable to criminals, as they are much harder to sell on the black market or fence.

Speeds Up Recovery: If your phone is lost or snatched and later recovered by authorities, officers can scan the QR code to instantly track your ownership, bypass locked screens, and contact you.
