ASB and visibility among the priorities for the next quarter |
Dear Resident, Thank you to everyone who attended our meeting last week. For those who couldn’t join, here’s what was discussed: New priorities for the next three months: · ASB in Huntingdon Town Centre, Yaxley and Sapley · Vehicle related ASB in Ramsey, visibility in Ramsey and ASB in Houghton · Vehicle related ASB in St Neots, ASB in the Town Centre and at the Marina
Updates on previous priorities: Huntingdon Tackling knife crime: We have carried out targeted patrols and stop searches, removing further knives from our streets. We have also used warrant powers to seize weapons from private addresses. Through Operation Guardian, we continue to engage directly with individuals we believe may be carrying knives, providing education and early intervention to reduce the risk of harm. Addressing vehicle-related anti-social behaviour (Yaxley): We have increased high-visibility patrols and proactive activity, working closely with partner agencies to identify those responsible. We have responded quickly to reports of car cruises and are progressing enforcement action, including using Section 59 powers to warn and, where necessary, seize vehicles linked to ongoing issues. St Ives and Ramsey Knife crime enforcement: We have conducted 16 stop searches, resulting in 13 offences being recorded. Weapons have been recovered during warrants, seized and taken out of circulation. We continue to manage individuals through Operation Guardian, supported by education and increased patrols. Vehicle ASB (Ramsey): We have taken action against those involved, issuing a Section 59 warning to a repeat offender and providing words of advice to another individual, alongside increased patrols in the area. St Neots Knife crime prevention: We have continued engagement with individuals identified through Operation Guardian to prevent escalation and reduce the risk of knife-related harm. Youth-related anti-social behaviour: We have issued two Anti-Social Behaviour Contracts and spoken to four individuals involved in climbing on shop roofs. We have also dealt with cannabis misuse through community resolutions and delivered a county lines awareness session to a group of students. Vehicle ASB: Officers have seized a quad bike linked to anti-social behaviour in Wintringham and an electric Sur-Ron in St Neots. We are continuing targeted enforcement around car meets and are working with partner agencies to identify those involved and take further action. 📅Next meeting: Online on 16 September at 7pm
Kind Regards, Inspector Colin Norden Huntingdonshire Neighbourhood Team | ||
