I wanted to provide you with an update regarding dangerous driving and speeding, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. On Tuesday 23rd of June 2026 Harrow Local Police officers were on proactive patrols when their attention was drawn to a vehicle being driven which was shown as having no insurance. Officers have attempted to get behind the vehicle however the driver before being engaged by police has crashed into a parked car. Officers were able to secure the driver who was detained for the purposes of a search. Further enquiries revealed that the driver was only a provisional license holder and held no valid insurance. As a result, the driver was reported to court for multiple driving offences. The vehicle was seized and taken to the car pound.
![]() If someone is driving a motor vehicle, they should always be doing so in a safe and considerate manner. Even momentary lapses in judgement can have life changing or devastating consequences for those in the vehicle or innocent bystanders.
