Operation Skybridge: Man charged after Handsworth shop burglary

A burglary suspect’s due in court following an investigation by Operation Skybridge and Neighbourhood Crime Team officers in Handsworth.

Jason Robinson, aged 32, of no fixed address, was due before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (25 June) charged with burglary of a business.

It comes after Skybridge, our proactive crime team in Birmingham, carried out an investigation following a break-in at a shop on Stafford Road earlier this month, where items including alcohol and washing up liquid were taken.

Those items were then offered for sale nearby.

Skybridge officers worked with the Neighbourhood Crime Team and carried out several enquiries including a review of CCTV.

Acting Sergeant Sam Wilkes, from Skybridge, said: “We continue to operate in the Soho Road area and our message is clear - If you commit criminal offences, you can expect us to be thorough and robust in our efforts to bring you to justice.”
