Man charged after robbery in Aldeburgh |

A man has been charged with robbery following an incident in Aldeburgh last week.
At approximately 3pm on Saturday 20 June, police received report of a robbery from an ice cream van on the seafront.
It was reported that the vendor, a man, had been threatened by another man who damaged his phone before stealing a quantity of cash. The suspect then fled the scene.
The victim sustained a minor injury to his arm and was shaken by the incident.
Following enquiries a 22-year-old man was arrested the next day (Sunday 21 June) in connection with the incident and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Dillon Sayers, of Carlton Road in Saxmundham, was subsequently charged with:
Robbery Criminal damage Possession of a knife/blade in a public place Possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, namely a knuckle duster knife Possession of a quantity of a controlled class A drug, namely cocaine Possession of criminal property
Sayers appeared at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 22 June, and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance at Ipswich Crown Court on Monday 20 July.
