|
Detectives in Welwyn Garden City are appealing for witnesses and information following an alleged robbery at Stanborough Lakes on Friday 19 June. Three males were quickly arrested after the incident and have been released on bail while the investigation continues. However, officers are keen to trace any witnesses who saw the robbery or the males involved. The offence is reported to have taken place between 9pm and 9.30pm. Two teenage boys aged 15 and 16 years old were walking on a path near where a tree had fallen into the lake on the side with the café, when they were approached by three males, two white teenage boys and an older black man. The boys were threatened and their bags were taken. The three males then headed off towards Eddington Crescent. Investigator Frances Aylin said: “We know there were still quite a few people in the area at the time the offence took place, so we are hoping that there will be witnesses to the robbery. One of the suspects was reported to be wearing a balaclava. “If you did see the incident or the males in the area at the time, please contact me via email at Frances.Aylin@herts.police.uk “ You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number 41/57314/26. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
