Dear Residents, PCSO Petrosino here this is a quick round up from me and the rest of the Hillfields neighbourhood policing team. What`s been happening: We have conducted high visible patrols around your neighbourhood, aiming at the hotspots for anti-social behaviour. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Your local Neighbourhood team have been out and about engaging in the community. Last week we undertook a successful traffic operation in the Hillfields area, seizing 5 vehicles for no insurance/licence as well as issuing 6 tickets for obstruction. We aim to continue these operations to ensure the safety of our roads in the local area. Officers attended two local community events - The United in Love festival in the City Centre and the Refugee Migrant Centre family fun day. Attending these events is a priority for us to get closer to the different people and cultures that make up our local community. Officers attended multiple Cuppa with a Coppa events over the week. These are a great opportunity to give your local officers information around any issues that you are experiencing. ARRESTS: This week your local officers made some great arrests this set. Altogether there were 3 arrests made regarding known offenders causing issues within the local neighbourhood this week. OTHER HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK: Officers have been out completing patrols in hotspot locations and conducting stop and searches. It’s time to get summer-ready and secure your home, vehicles, and valuables – double checking your windows and doors are locked is key. Never leave your car unattended, running with the AC on, and valuables on show. Over the summer, you will see more officers out in our towns and cities, but there are also ways you can help keep your community safe. Your CCTV helps us solve real crimes. We are urging local businesses, residents, and community groups to sign up to our CCTV registry online: CCTV Registry | West Midlands Police. It only takes five minutes and can help us bring more opportunistic burglars and thieves to justice.
You can report suspicious activity around vehicles and homes, online via Live Chat, through 101, and anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
GREAT NEWS: Your local neighbourhood team are looking a setting up a Street watch in Hillfields. Street Watch Team is a community patrol initiative that helps you make a difference where you live. Street watch gives you and your community an opportunity to keep your area safe. Our website has more information and how to get involved www.west-midlands.police.uk or contact streetwatch@westmidlands.police.uk
