Hello Hampstead Town residents, On TUESDAY, 23/06/2026, I, PCSO Catubig from Hampstead Town Safer Neighbourhoods Team, was on patrol along Hampstead High Street with PCSO Demircan from Highgate SNT.
During our patrol, we attended a call relating to anti-social behaviour involving reports of rowdy or inconsiderate behaviour, loitering, and vagrancy in the Hampstead High Street area.
While carrying out a welfare check, I recognised a female known locally to officers as being wanted for failing to appear at court in relation to shop theft offences. This was based on recent briefings and checks completed earlier in the day.
The individual is known to officers as a prolific shoplifter, predominantly targeting the Waterstones book store on Hampstead High Street.
We kept the situation calm and requested support from police officers, who attended shortly after and arrested the individual.
We will continue to carry out patrols and support local residents and shops.
