Stabbing in City Centre Last Night |
||
|
Hello Resident We are appealing for information after a teenager was stabbed in Birmingham city centre last night. Officers were called to Victoria Square at around 8.30pm after a 17-year-old boy was found with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital and remains in a stable condition. It’s understood a fight broke out between two groups and the victim was stabbed. We are reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses as part of our enquiries and a cordon remains in place while we forensically examine the area. Detective Superintendent Lucy Kirwan, Birmingham Police, said: “We know this will cause concern to those living, working and visiting the city centre and we will have an increased presence in the area to offer reassurance. “The incident happened at a busy time last night, and we know there were a lot of people in the area. “If you have any mobile phone footage of what happened or can provide any information then please contact us.” You can do this by calling 101 quoting 5642 of 23 June. Alternatively, to give information anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. | ||
